Board of Health and Welfare Meets Monday, August 17th
The Idaho Board of Health and Welfare will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, August 17
th
, in Boise. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the 10
th
floor conference room of the Pete T. Cenarrusa Building, 450 West State St.
During the morning session, the Board will review new rules that set facility licensing and operational standards for non-hospital, mental health/detox centers such as the one being constructed in Boise. This is a new type of facility for Idaho, prompting rules to be developed to cover minimum construction standards, policies and procedures for services and treatment, and staff qualifications.
The Board also will consider rules that update the Idaho Reportable Disease list, adding novel influenza viruses such as the novel H1N1 pandemic virus currently circulating. If approved, this will help provide surveillance of novel flu viruses so effective public health strategies can be utilized to help reduce the spread of infections.
The Board is scheduled to adjourn at approximately 3:30 p.m. For a copy of the agenda, please
