Idaho Department of Health and Welfare public assistance programs are not impacted by the federal shutdown at this time. These include:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP or Food Stamps): Benefit payments were deposited on participant’s EBT cards on October 1 and can be used purchase food throughout the month of October.
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC): Vouchers for October have been issued and can be spent for food throughout the month of October.
  • Medicaid: Payments to providers are not impacted, so participants can continue receiving necessary medical treatment.
  • Cash Assistance Programs: The Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho (TAFI) and Aid to the Aged, Blind and Disabled (AABD) continue uninterrupted for the month of October.
  • Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP): Payments are being made for the month of October with no impact.
  • Child Support Services: Operation will continue with no interruption of services.
