High demand for the federally funded Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has exhausted Idaho’s allocation sooner than usual this winter, causing the program to close almost three weeks early.
Families will no longer be able to apply for heating assistance through the program after the close of business today and are advised to call 211 or go to for information on other resources that may be available to those struggling to meet home energy or other needs.

Due to additional state agency budget reductions announced last week, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is expanding its office hour closures from a half day every other Friday to a full day on those Fridays. The closures will begin next week, and continue through June 11th.
