2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is a free, statewide, bilingual telephone information and referral service linking Idahoans with health and human service providers and programs. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. MST, Monday through Friday.
After-hours and on weekends, telephone lines are answered by voice mail, and messages are returned the following business day.
2-1-1 Idaho CareLine has been in operation since 1990 as part of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. In May 2002, Idaho CareLine entered into a collaborative partnership with the 2-1-1 Idaho Project to implement the easy dialing access "2-1-1" service, an now is called "2-1-1 Idaho CareLine."
What are the services?
2-1-1 Idaho CareLine uses an extensive database of health and human service providers to support information and referral activities. The statewide service connects people to services such as prenatal care, immunizations, adolescent pregnancy prevention, Medicaid resources, adoption and foster care services, child development information, nutrition and supplemental food programs, emergency housing/food resources, child care referrals, child abuse prevention, services for the aged, and diabetes treatment and prevention.

With topics ranging from women’s and children’s programs to services for the elderly, from primary health care to community services for people with disabilities, our staff is equipped to direct callers to a broad range of services statewide.
How do you connect with 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine?
2-1-1 Idaho CareLine serves all areas of Idaho. A 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine Customer Service Specialist will transfer the caller directly to the requested resource in his or her community. To use 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine, dial 2-1-1 or 1-800-926-2588. For the hearing impaired, dial TDD 1-208-332-7205.
