When approved for food assistance benefits, you will fall into one of two reporting categories based on your household circumstances. Your reporting category will be determined by a Self Reliance worker.
Change Reporting
You are responsible for reporting the following:
- When unearned income changes (increases or decreases) by more than $50.
- When earned income changes (increases or decreases) by more than $100.
- When your address changes and the resulting changes in shelter costs (mortgage, utilities, etc.).
- Changes to who lives in your household.
- When your resources (value of accounts, funds, sellable property, etc.) exceed the limit.
Simplified Reporting
You are responsible for reporting the following:
- Your work hours decrease to less than 80 hours per month.
- When your household income exceeds the income limit for your household size.
- When your address changes (important to avoid interruption in receiving benefits).
If your household is in the Simplified Reporting category, you may want to report the following changes. You are not required to report these changes; however, these changes may increase your food stamp benefit:
- When your income decreases.
- When your income ends.
