Vaccination is one of the best ways parents can protect infants, children, and teens from 16 potentially harmful diseases. Vaccine-preventable diseases can be very serious, may require hospitalization, or even be deadly - especially in infants and young children. As school and childcare personnel, you play an important role in protecting the children in your care against vaccine-preventable diseases. Idaho law requires that children receive certain immunizations before attending licensed childcare facilities, preschool, and grades K-12 in public, private, and parochial schools. Idaho law also requires licensed childcare providers and schools to enforce immunization requirements, maintain immunization records of all children enrolled, and submit reports to the Idaho Immunization Program.
