Medicaid Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for health coverage in Idaho, you must:

  • Be an Idaho resident
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal non-citizen.
  • Meet certain income criteria

Adult health coverage also has a limit on the value of assets, such as bank accounts, vehicles, and real estate.  The Medicaid for Workers with Disabilities coverage group has higher income and resource limits so that many disabled workers under the age of 65 can qualify for health coverage.

Medicaid Income Limits

To use the chart:

  1.  Add up all gross income (before taxes) that your household receives for a month.
  2.  On the chart, find your family size.
  3.  Follow the row to find the income limit for your household size.  For example, an adult with a family size of four would have to have income no greater than $382 in order to be eligible for Family Medicaid.
