Idaho Rapid HCV Screening Project

The Viral Hepatitis Prevention Program has been conducting the Idaho Rapid HCV Screening Project since November of 2012. The Project seeks to increase the number of individuals who are aware of their HCV infection and link them to care. Currently, the Viral Hepatitis Prevention Program is partnered with eleven community-based organizations and public health districts to provide rapid HCV testing. Individuals who have a reactive rapid HCV test receive education on HCV, how to reduce transmission, staying healthy, and where to obtain confirmatory testing.

The eleven agencies providing this service are:

  1. Panhandle Health District (Health District 1)
  2. North Idaho AIDS Coalition (Health District 1)
  3. Southwest District Health/Port of Hope (Health District 3)
  4. Central District Health Department (Health District 4)
  5. a.l.p.h.a. (Allies Linked for the Prevention of HIV & AIDS) (Health District 4)
  6. Centro de Comunidad y Justicia (Health District 4)
  7. El-Ada (Health District 4)
