Women's Health Check

Women's Health Check is Idaho's breast and cervical cancer early detection program. We work closely with the Idaho Comprehensive Cancer Control Program to address high rates of cancer in Idaho women.

Early Detection is Key

Idaho women experience high rates of breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer. Be here today and tomorrow. Call your provider to schedule your cancer screening today if you are due.

Check your screening recommendations

Breast

Starting at 40 and continuing through 74, women should get screening for breast cancer every other year. If you have a history of breast cancer in your family, talk with your provider, as they may recommend earlier screening.

Cervical

Starting at 21 and continuing through 65, women should get cervical cancer screening every 3 years.

Colorectal

Starting at 45 and continuing through 75, adults should get screening for colorectal cancer. If you have a history of colorectal cancer in your family, talk with your provider, as they may recommend earlier screening. Frequency depends on history and the screening method used:

  • Colonoscopy: Every 10 years
  • Stool-based tests (e.g., Fecal Immunochemical Test or Fecal Occult Blood Tests): Annually
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy: Every 5 years
  • CT colonography (virtual colonoscopy): Every 5 years
