AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)

Idaho’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) helps people living with HIV or AIDS pay for prescriptions. Idaho’s ADAP formulary is updated as new medications are added and can be found here. 

Eligibility requirements

The eligibility requirements for the Ryan White Part B Medical Case Management, ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program), and HIV Monitoring Lab Service Requirements include the following:

  1. HIV positive
  2. Idaho resident 
  3.  Federal poverty level up to 500 percent
  4.  Not insured or underinsured for coverage of medications and HIV monitoring labs
  5.  Not an inmate of the state, or federal corrections system

For individuals with income 501 to 900 percent of the federal poverty level, assistance is limited to six months and client must demonstrate financial need:

       1a. Medication costs equal to or greater than 10 percent of income source(s), or

       2a. Sub-par HIV antiretroviral medication regime due to cost

 

Services vary but can include:

  • HIV diagnostic and monitoring labs
  • Emergency financial assistance for essential services including utilities, housing, food
  • Medical transportation
  • Dental care services
  • Behavioral health support services
  • Linguistic services and referral for other health care services
