The purpose of the Indian Child Welfare Advisory Council (ICWAC) is to improve outcomes related to
permanency, safety, and well being of Indian children in Idaho through:
- Promoting and improving Indian child welfare;
- Implementation of and advocacy for both the law and the spirit of Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA);
- Education and awareness of the ICWA;
- Building positive State-Tribal relations through collaboration and cooperation between the Tribes and the IDHW.
