Health Statistics

The Health Statistics Unit within the Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics collects, analyzes and reports information from data systems such as Vital Statistics, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Tracking System.

Each of these data systems can provide detailed, relevant information for assessment, surveillance and evaluation. Select a link to view electronic copies of reports and fact sheets.

 
Vital Statistics - Includes information on births, deaths, marriages, divorces, stillbirths, teen pregnancies and abortions.
 
Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)-  Is an ongoing surveillance program developed by the CDC. It is designed to estimate the prevalence of risk factors for the major causes of morbidity and mortality among adults aged 18 and over.
 
Pregnancy Risk Assessment Tracking System (PRATS) -  Is an annual survey of new mothers in Idaho regarding maternal experiences and health behaviors before, during and after pregnancy. PRATS provides prevalence estimates of risk factors associated with poor pregnancy outcomes and infant health.
 
Fact Sheets & Reports - Contains Fact Sheets and Reports for General Health, Substance Use/Mental Health, Chronic Disease, Health Behaviors, Induced Termination, Natality/Pregnancy/Teen Pregnancy, Mortality/Injury.
