The Health Statistics Unit within the Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics collects, analyzes, and reports information from data systems such as Vital Statistics, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, and the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Tracking System.

Each of these data systems can provide detailed, relevant information for assessment, surveillance, and evaluation. Select a link to view electronic copies of the reports:

• Vital Statistics includes information on births, deaths, marriages, divorces, stillbirths, and abortions. To obtain a certificate, click here; 

• The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is a health survey of adults in Idaho and includes information about health behaviors (such as alcohol use or cancer screenings), chronic diseases like diabetes, and health care access issues. Scroll down this page for the latest BRFSS publication;

• The Pregnancy Risk Assessment Tracking System (PRATS) is an annual survey of new mothers regarding mothers’ experiences before, during, and after pregnancy.  It provides information on whether the pregnancy was intended, prenatal care, health behaviors, breastfeeding patterns, and other issues as well.
