The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) is joining the majority of states across the U.S to look for innovative solutions to coordinate benefits and improve healthcare options based on individual needs and preferences.
The IDHW has implemented a new managed care program called Idaho Medicaid Plus (IMPlus). The program is for individuals eligible for both Medicare and Idaho Medicaid benefits. IMPlus is a single managed care source covering most Medicaid benefits. The IMPlus program successfully launched in Twin Falls County on November 1, 2018. The program is set to be implemented in the following additional counties on April 1, 2019:
The IDHW is partnering with two Idaho health plans, Molina Healthcare of Idaho and Blue Cross of Idaho to administer the IMPlus plan. In addition to the plan covering most Medicaid services, each IMPlus member is assigned a care specialist who serves as the member’s health care advocate.
For questions about Idaho Medicaid Plus, please contact the IDHW benefit specialists at (833) 814-8568 or by email at IdahoDuals@dhw.idaho.gov.
