Behavioral PHA – Weight Management
You earn points by signing up to participate in monitored weight management activities. You may also qualify for this benefit if you are significantly underweight.
Weight Management participants receive a $200 annual benefit to help pay for their weight management program fees at a participating vendor.
Behavioral PHA – Tobacco Cessation
As of January 1, 2014, The Preventive Health Assistance Program no longer manages the Tobacco Cessation Program. The Medicaid Pharmacy Unit manages this program. Please see the Idaho Medicaid Pharmacy Webpage for additional information or call the Pharmacy Unit at (208) 364-1829.
PHA Wellness points
If you pay a monthly premium ($10 or $15) for your child’s Medicaid coverage, your child is eligible for the wellness PHA benefit. You can earn 10 points per month for keeping your child’s well-child checks and immunizations current. The points will be subtracted from your monthly Medicaid premiums.
Children should have a well-child check at the following ages:
|1 Week - 1 Month
Children ages 3-19 need a check-up every year.
You should also ask your doctor which immunizations your child needs and to enter the immunization record into IRIS - Idaho's Immunization Registry. If you don't have a doctor for your child, call the Helathy Connections Unit at (888) 528-5861.
Note: Participants on the Home Care for Certain Disabled Children Program (Katie Beckett) are not eligible for Wellness PHA benefits.
