Regional Early Childhood Committees | Idaho Department of Health and Welfare

Regional Early Childhood Committees (RECCs) are diverse groups of community members who advise and assist the Idaho Infant Toddler Program of Idaho’s Department of Health and Welfare in the implementation of early intervention services, provide information to their communities on early childhood development, and work together to support families with young children who are at-risk or who already have delays or disabilities.

RECCs’ involvement in their communities may include:

Developmental screening events
Early intervention public awareness events
Outreach to clinics/pediatric offices
Training for childcare providers
Collaboration with Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (IAEYC) for Week of the Young Child

Join your local Regional Early Childhood Committee and help improve early intervention services.

The mission of the Regional Early Childhood Committee is to advise and assist the Infant Toddler Program in the implementation of the early intervention system in the state, to provide information, and to coordinate and collaborate with community partners to support at risk young children and children with delays or disabilities and their families.

The primary function of the Regional Early Childhood Committee is to serve as the link between the Idaho Infant Toddler Coordinating Council and the 7 Regions of the State. The RECC is instrumental in assuring successful interagency collaboration between all relevant local agencies providing support to young children with disabilities and delays and their families.
