2-1-1 is a free statewide community information and referral service, and is a program of DHW. Our comprehensive database includes programs that offer free or low-cost health and human services or social services, such as rental assistance, energy assistance, medical assistance, food and clothing, child care resources, emergency shelter, and more.

The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is a program of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and is a free, statewide, community information and referral service. 2-1-1 services are available almost everywhere in the United States. Simply dial 2-1-1 and you can be connected to a 2-1-1 community resource specialist for health and human services available in your community.
In Idaho, 2-1-1 is the central contact point for health campaigns and supports Idaho Department of Health and Welfare agencies so the people of Idaho can easily be connected to resources and information offered in the State of Idaho, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. MST.
2-1-1 maintains a clearinghouse of information pamphlets and other related materials related to health and human services. Topics include health and wellness, safety, poison control, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare-related programs, the Medicaid handbook, WIC, kinship guides, child care, and parenting tips and child development.
