The Department of Health and Welfare is proud to partner with the Boise Hawks baseball team for a special Foster Family Night on Friday, June 6, at Memorial Stadium in Boise. The event will celebrate the commitment of Idaho’s foster families during the Hawks’ home game against the Ogden Raptors.
Baseball fans from across the Treasure Valley are invited to enjoy a fun evening at the ballpark filled with baseball, community, and recognition. The Boise Hawks will honor foster parents and children in attendance and provide a welcoming space for families to connect and enjoy America’s pastime together. Department Deputy Director Monty Prow will be on hand to throw one of the game’s opening pitches.
“This night is a small way to say thank you to the foster families who open their hearts and homes to children in need,” said Laura Denner, administrator for Family and Community Partnerships at the Department of Health and Welfare. “Foster care can be challenging and deeply rewarding, and we’re excited to celebrate the people who step up every day to make a difference.”
The game starts at 7:05 p.m., with gates opening at 6:15 p.m. This family-friendly event will include a bounce house, slide, and obstacle course in the Kid Zone. Partners from Freedom Youth Foundation, Foster and Heart, and others will offer resources and support. The evening will be capped with post-game fireworks.
“This is more than just a night at the ballpark,” Denner said. “It’s a chance for foster families to relax, connect, and feel appreciated by their community. Let’s come together for a fun night of recognition, community, and celebration.”
