To assist with the response to the current pandemic, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare announced today a new funding opportunity to help Idaho laboratories establish or increase capacity for community COVID-19 testing in Idaho. Funds may be used for supplies, consumables, and laboratory equipment.

“We’re excited to make this available for Idaho laboratories,” said Dr. Christopher Ball, Chief of the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories. “We know there are communities in Idaho that don’t have enough testing locally available, and we are hoping to fill that gap.”

Funding can be used to increase PCR, antigen, or serologic testing. The full announcement is posted on the coronavirus.idaho.gov website at: https://coronavirus.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Subgrant-Solicitation_Increase-Lab-Capacity_CFAC-1.pdf
