Residential Assisted Living Facilities (RALF)

Residential Assisted Living Facilities, commonly referred to as RALFs, are group living arrangements in a facility or residence operated on either a profit or non-profit basis for the purpose of providing necessary supervision, personal assistance, meals, and lodging to three or more adults (18 years of age or older) not related to the owner. An assisted living facility is a senior living option for those with minimal needs for assistance with daily living and care.  Its purpose is to help adults live as independently as possible in a safe environment.  For any resident who has needs requiring a nurse, the facility must ensure a licensed nurse is available to meet the needs of the resident.

About the RALF Team

The Residential Assisted Living Facilities (RALF) Team conducts surveys, or inspections, of residential assisted living facilities in Idaho to verify compliance with state rules. These surveys include initial licensures, regular (typically annually) licensure inspections, and complaint investigations. The RALF Team is available during business hours using any of the contact methods listed below.
