To apply for services or to determine eligibility for seasonal heating assistance, contact your local Community Action Agency.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for seasonal heating assistance, a family must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Live in Idaho
- One household member must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident
- Show proof of identity
- Provide proof of heating expense
- Households are entitled to one benefit payment per program year (October – September annually)
- Meet certain income guidelines
Crisis heating assistance

To apply for services or to determine eligibility for crisis heating assistance, contact your local Community Action Agency.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for crisis heating assistance, a family must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Live in Idaho
- One household member must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident
- Show proof of identity
- Provide proof of heating expense
- Meet certain income guidelines
- Have not received a crisis heating assistance benefit payment in the last 12 month period
Families must also meet one of the following requirements:
- is at risk of disconnection of utility services or had their utility services disconnected
- have a utility bill with a past due balance or owed arrearages
- have less than 48 hours of bulk fuel
