Promoting and protecting the health and safety of all Idahoans

Breast and Cervical Cancer Program

The Department of Health and Welfare’s Women's Health Check Program provides free mammograms and pap tests for women with low incomes who cannot access these services because they either do not have insurance, or their insurance will not cover these screenings. When screenings identify cancer, Medicaid’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Program is available to ensure these women receive the treatment they need.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Program participants are eligible for all Medicaid benefits listed in the Idaho Health Plan Coverage booklet during active treatment of their cancer. Participants may continue to receive Medicaid benefits including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and drug therapy until their physician determines that their cancer is in remission and only requires monitoring.
