As the Behavioral Health Authority for the State of Idaho, the Division of Behavioral Health (DBH) is developing best practice standards aimed at improving behavioral health care across the state. DBH is inviting the public to review and comment on initial drafts of the following standards:
- Care Management
- Case Management
- Intensive Care Coordination
- Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS)
- Homes for Adult Rehabilitation Treatment (HART)
- Wraparound Intensive Services (WInS)
- Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Life Skills
- Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Recovery Residences
- Staffed Safe and Sober Housing
- Enhanced Staffed Safe and Sober
- Crisis System
- Crisis Call Line
- Mobile Crisis Response
- Community Crisis Centers
Each standard contains guidelines that are intended to apply only to those entities that offer the services or serve the populations identified in the standard. As the behavioral health system evolves, these standards may be amended and/or additional standards may be developed in the future that apply to all behavioral health treatment and recovery support service providers in Idaho.
The draft standards and comment form are available at https://healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/providers/behavioral-health-providers/behavioral-health-service-providers. Public comment will be accepted until Aug. 3, 2021. All comments received will be considered by DBH review committees in finalizing the standard. If you have a specific comment or question, please email us at DBHPolicy@dhw.idaho.gov.
